Well - VBS was GREAT!!! Didnt go quiet as I had originally planned -- I had sooo many plans for cutesy pictures and stuff -- but had NO TIME for pictures -- at least 20 4 and 5 year olds every night with 26 one night -- Who all were the teachers? ME AND SCOTT! WOW -- WE had fun, but busy busy busy!
I just thought I would let everyone in on a few things:
well we are getting ready to paint our house (inside) -- I am painting my kitchen cabinets RED!! I cannot wait! Girls room - I think NEON green, this seems to be their FAVE color these days! I had rather it be hot pink though, hmmmmmmmmm better think about that! Boys room-Cobalt blue, why? who knows just sounds fun! Having trouble deciding on kids bathroom and my bedroom and bath! ANY suggestions?
I have also decided to UNCLUTTER my house -- I have tooooo much stuff! I want some accent things hanging up and less junk sitting around -- THEREFORE there will be a hugemongous (like that word?) garage sale at may house in the next few weeks
i have decided to also let my children who all share rooms - girls together and boys together - pick out their own bed spreads -- I normally do all of this with allowing very little say so from them since I like things neat, tidy, organized and matching, but they are seperate people and should be allowed to PICK OUT their bedspreads. My girls will do fine, but the boys---- well they will get something with characters on it - IIIIIIIIII HATE CHARACTERS!!!! But hey I can handle this, I had Holly Hobby and Strawberry Shortcake and I am sure my mom didnt like these too much either! I can handle this ----RIGHT? I need some reassuring here guys!!!! Quick before I change my mind!
I am wondering about a shelving system in the closets or drawers under the beds to rid their rooms of dressers therefore enabling them to have more room in their bedrooms -- right now their bunkbeds HAVE to stay stacked, but they had all rather them be single beds? ANY IDEAS?? sounds good to me - -I have seen them underbed organizers, I mean we hang almost everything up anyway!
ok NOW I am really ready to get started -- but first -- DOWN with all the border (which will not be replaced by more border)~~~~so let me call my Hardware Store hubby and tell him to get to mixing paint! It is great when your husband runs a hardware store and can get all this done for you--even after hours if ya runout! PRICELESS
As far as your bathroom and bedroom, we are actually redoing our bathroom. (You may have read that on my blog.) I am painting our bathroom a deep gray. Not a prison gray. It's beautiful. And I know it works because my friend has her bathroom and living room painted in similar colors and it's gorgeous. I'm going to use black accent pieces (we have a gigantic master bath with almost too much wall space) and i bought a huge candle holder that is made of that iron-type stuff for $25 at Hobby Lobby (they are having a half off sale on wall decor right now). And our bedroom is a sage green. Very pretty and relaxing. all of my accent pieces are brown. And our comforter and pillows are brown. It's really pretty. I posted some pics of it on my blog way back last year in maybe January or February. Good luck and keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the gray for us will be good because our cabinets and countertops are white along with our jacuzzi and shower. So it will be a good contrast.
ReplyDeleteWe want pictures that document this process!
