I have been to the doctor for many reasons, and have been with many people to many doctors appointments. Here are a few reasons we(I) have been to the doctor: (remember I have four kids)
1. strept throat ---10 million times (all 4 kids and me)
2. swine flu -- Blaine 2x
3. child eaten up with mosquito bites (51 to be exact) while visiting someone
4. cut off end of finger in a door (chase)
5. stitches above eye (chase)
6. stitches under chin (chase)
7. broken shoulder (haylee)
8. sprained hand (shanna)
9. cant poop (Blaine)
10. giardhea (Chase)
11. hospital visit to fill teeth (Blaine) b/c he was too scared to do in office
12. dont forget I have had two sections
13. gallbladder removal (me)
14. hernia operation (Scott)
15. cyst on little boy parts, surgically removed (chase)
I know you guys really didnt want to hear all of this, but I have a point (other than I OWN dr flowers's car-hahaha). I went to the doctor with a dear friend yesterday (KRIS), to have a kenalog injection. What is that you may ask? Please humor me while I explain!
first of all they put her in this dentist looking chair -
tell her to relax (yea right)
begin digging around in this drawer and pull out quiet a few syringes
Kris almost passes out
pull out this hugegantic (this mean REALLY big) needle
Kris almost passes out
luckily this is just a needle to draw the medicine with
next they take a syringe full of numbing meds
Kris almost passes out
hold her head back
stick that frapping needle straight into her voice box (from the outside of neck)
Kris almost passes out
then they get the real medicine
Kris almost passes out
long flimsy needle - and stick it into her neck -- until I heard a pop! seriously POP
move it up, down, right, left, in, out -- you name it!
Kris almost passes out
finally done!
now -- all of this is to strengthen her voice-- she did have voice cancer a year ago, which is gone now! Thank you GOD!!!!!!
BUT, really--------- Now the bright side of this is that if you ever have a friend whom you are very upset with, this procedure would be a great torture method! I mean would could be better than and needle through the neck (twice) right?
Did i mention she has to do it again in 3 weeks? not to worry -- they prescribed "loopy" drugs for the next one!!!!!
Christie you are so crazy, girl. What a great friend to go with Kris, I know she was glad someone was there!
ReplyDeleteI am soooo glad that I was able to give you blog material.....Calvin says he'll go next time.....my guess is that Doc S will be telling future patients about my husband passing out. I am really not so sure he can deal with it. He didn't even change diapers.
ReplyDeleteThank you for going. Really. I appreciate you having my back.
hugs
